What Is Shopkick?
Shopkick is a free mobile app that offers a unique fun way to earn free gift cards. It’s been around for a while, but a lot of people aren’t aware of it. You can earn points for different activities such as walking in store, scanning barcodes and scanning receipts. Points are referred to as “kicks” or “shopkicks”. You can choose from gift cards like Walmart, Amazon and PayPal. Earn gift cards with as little as 500 kicks. 250 kicks are equivalent to $1.00.
How Does Shopkick Work?
There are 4 main ways to earn kicks. You can walk in, scan items in stores, purchases and the app shopping portal.
Walk Ins
Walk in are the easiest way to earn kicks. Open the Shopkick app with your Bluetooth on and walk into a store. That’s it. Easy right. The Bluetooth will connect with the store’s system as you walk in the store. Shopkick will then be added to your account. Sometimes you can earn kicks by just being near the store. Normally walk ins are around 10-50 kicks. The app usually has higher walk in kicks during the weekend. Where you can earn 150-200 kicks.
Scan Barcodes
Once you’re in the store, there are more ways you can earn kicks. Right now, you can earn 1200 kicks for scanning items in Walmart. Open the app, select the item and scan the barcode in the store.
In-Store Purchases
Earn extra kicks when you purchase the items you scanned in the store. For example Dove Moisturizing Body wash, you can earn 40 kicks when you scan the barcode in store. Earn an additional 400 kicks when you purchase the item. Open the app and scan your receipt to receive credit.
In App Shopping
Shop online within the Shopkick app and earn points for every dollar spent. Currently, you can earn 1980 kicks for joining Hulu or 3 kicks per $1 spent at Walmart.com.
Referral Program
Refer someone to Shopkick that uses your link and earn 250 kicks per person. To qualify for the kicks, they must redeem an offer.
