Amazon wants to know the shopping habits of its customers outside of Amazon. Instead of paying research companies, they created Amazon Shopper Panel. The program is an opt-in, invitation only where you can earn free Amazon gift cards answering surveys & scanning receipts. You provide them with receipts that are not from Amazon and they reward you with Amazon money. The goal is to help their sellers target advertising campaign, offer better products and sales listings.
How Does Amazon Shopper Panel Work?
It’s similar to ReceiptPal and Receipt Hog. You can scan any receipt as long as it is not from Amazon. The only difference between those two apps and Amazon Shopper Panel is you only have to upload 10 receipts a month. Once you upload 10 eligible receipts in a month, you earn $10 in your Amazon.com balance. You can do this each month. Another way to earn Amazon money is to answer surveys.
Receipts can be uploaded from the app or emailed to receipts@panel.amazon.com. Make sure the email address you email the receipts from is the same email as your Amazon account. The receipt must be from purchases within the last 30 days. Some examples of receipts are:
- Grocery stores (excludes Whole Foods)
- Drug stores
- Department stores
- Restaurants
- Movie theaters
- Other entertainment outlets
Amazon will review the receipts and update the eligibility status within six hours. The receipts that are not eligible will be indicated and won’t receive a reward. You can send more than 10 receipts in a month, but you won’t receive and additional rewards. These extra receipts won’t roll over to the next month. As per their privacy notice, any confidential receipts will be deleted.
Another tip, don’t delete your receipts until the month is over. If you delete a receipt in the current month, it won’t count towards your ten. You can delete receipts from previous months with no penalty.
Another way to earn Amazon money is to complete surveys. Additionally, if you have an iOS device, you can enable ad sharing to earn an extra $2 per month.
How Do I Join?
The program is invitation only. You must receive an invitation from Amazon. Currently only those in the US and UK are eligible to join. You will need to be an Amazon customer. If you receive the invitation, you can download the app from either the App Store or Google Play Store. If there is no space available, you can join the waitlist.
Once you receive the invitation, login with the same email associated with your Amazon.com account on the Amazon Shopper Panel app. Invitations expire after 45 days and space fills up fast. If you decide you don’t want to participate in the program, you can always opt out within the app.
