ReceipPal is a major contender among receipt scanning apps. It’s similar to apps like Fetch Rewards or Ibotta that lets you earn money for shopping. But it’s a lot easier to use and you can submit receipts from any retailer.
What is ReceiptPal?
ReceiptPal is a mobile app that rewards you with points for uploading receipts or submitting e-receipts via email. These points can be redeemed for gift cards such as Amazon, Visa and Walmart. Gift cards can be redeemed for as little as 2,000 points.
ReceiptPal was created by The NPD Group. They provide market information and advisory services to help companies make better business decisions. They help companies develop a plan to grow their businesses. None of your personal information is shared. Receipts are used to help retailers understand customers shopping behavior and create better promotions and products.
How Does ReceiptPal Work?
There are a few different ways to earn points within the app. But mostly points are earned when you scan paper receipts.
Receipt Scanning
Each week cards are added to your ReceiptPal account. Each card can be used to scan 4 receipts. Once you have scanned 4 receipts and they are accepted, you will earn 100 points. You will receive 5 cards when you join and up to 3 cards are handed out each week on Sunday. If you run out of cards, your receipts will go towards your Sweepstakes Card.
To ensure proper credit, be sure the purchase date, store name and total price are visible on the receipt. Some receipts may be rejected if they do not contain a phone number of zip code. You can submit receipts for just about any store or restaurant. However, you cannot submit receipts like cable or utility bills, doctor’s visit, etc. Also, be sure the receipt is readable and taken in decent lighting.
Sweepstakes Card
Once you have used all your cards for the week, the remaining receipts are scanned on your ReceiptPal Sweepstakes Card. For each receipt, you 2 entries into the weekly sweepstakes. The weekly sweepstakes are for a $250 gift card and drawings are held on Mondays. 3 winners are chosen every week.
E-Receipts
When you create your account connect your email and Amazon account to the app. Whenever you make a purchase and receive a receipt via email, you will automatically be credited with points. If your cards are full, receipts will be credited to your Sweepstakes Card.
Referral Program
On average, you can earn about $80 to $100 per year scanning receipts. However, you can earn more when you refer others to ReceiptPal. Each time you refer someone to the app, you can earn 250 points. To receive credit, they must connect their email. You can earn up to 6,250 points per month.
